The Huddersfield Society for the Blind was established in 1859 to provide activities and facilities for the Blind and Partially Sighted people living within the
Old County Borough of Huddersfield
Although times have changed the need to combat isolation and lonliness is still the same, to this end the Society offers the following facilities to support members of the Society.
Social Activities - Once a month
Christmas Parties
Day Trips - Three a year
Holidays (Subsidised)
Town Hall Concerts
Transport and Bus Escorts
Visits to sick members at home or in hospital
All events are free of charge to members including travel
We are extremely grateful to all our friends who give us support both financially and of their time to help us with this very worthwhile cause. Please visit us at our office at 3 Upperhead Row where we keep a selection of aids for the blind. e.g. talking clocks, watches and many more.
